Instructor Development Course

Trawangan Dive is running monthly Instructor Development Courses and invites you to join, finally giving you the opportunity to have the job of your dreams.   For the duration of the course you have backpacker accommodation and lunch included in the price, meaning that you can spend plenty of time with your fellow candidates and get the most out of the IDC experience.  Unlike the typical 10 day IDC ours runs for 16 days, this gives plenty of time for workshops on each of the courses, ensuring that once you pass your Instructor Examination you will feel completely ready and confident to teach all courses right the way up to Divemaster.  Additional days are included as part of the IDC to give personal one on one attention to each candidate, helping to fine-tune individual skills.

If you are new to the PADI system, or unfamiliar with the step's to becoming a successful instructor, let us be the first to welcome you to the world's largest diver training organization and some of the most modern instructional methods and material used in diver education today. The path to becoming an instructor is easy and it has been split to accommodate everyone's needs:

  • An eight (8) day Assistant Instructor course (AI), for those wanting to take the first step into teaching.
  • An eight (8) day Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI), if continuing your education or crossing over from another organization.
  • A sixteen (16) day Instructor Development Course (IDC), which encompasses both the AI and OWSI programs
  • A Three day instructor exam (IE)

The Instructor Development Course will be conducted our PADI Course Director Ayala Cohen and our PADI IDC Staff Instructors.

Our resident Course Director, Ayala Cohen, has a fun, professional, detailed way of bringing you through your training.  She spends time with each candidate to ensure they become the best possible instructors.  Her training focuses on helping candidates organize and teach all PADI courses.  Please feel free to come in and speak to Ayala for more information, you can also email her This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
