IDC Preparation

What can you do to Prepare yourself for your upcoming IDC?

The easiest way to prepare yourself for your IDC is to assist on PADI courses,  whether it be at your current location or with us here at Trawangan Dive. If you have access to PADI course DVD's they are also of great use as they contain a lot of information that may have slipped your mind as you have been climbing the career ladder. They also help put you back into a student divers mindset. Another great tool for you to use is the Diving Knowledge Workbook, but don't worry to much about getting your theory up to scratch as here at Trawangan Dive we take a more active approach in your teaching by providing theory workshops to recap all of your Divemaster theory, including Physics, Physiology, Equipment, RDP and Skills and Environment.

To be fully prepared for the IDC, we also recommend you:

  • Make sure your skill demonstrations are up to scratch.
  • Use the Diving Knowledge Workbook to review the five theory modules ( Physics, Physiology, Skills & the Environment, Equipment and the RDP).
  • Review your Instructor Manual, Aquatic Cue Cards and all manuals from Open Water to Divemaster including the quizzes from each course.

What should I bring to the IDC?

  • Medical Examination Certificate
  • EFR completed within the last two years ( if not, ask us to get updated! )
  • Log book with evidence of a minimum 80 dives. (note: for IE 100 logged dives)
  • All certification cards or certificates from Open Water to Divemaster (or equivalent)
  • Tuition fees.

Please let us know before hand if for any reason, you do not have any of the above.
