Course Description:
Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost βtreasureβ? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. Small, large or just awkward, there is a way to bring them up.
Gathering information and resources, then carefully planning a search are the first important steps you learn. During four scuba dives youβll practice:
- Swimming search patterns using your compass and natural navigation.
- Locating large and small objects using various search patterns.
- Using a lift bag for large or heavy objects, plus other recovery methods.
- Planning a search operation based on facts gathered about a lost object prior to the dive.

Prerequisites
- Be at least 12 years old
- Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, or equivalent from agencies recognized by PADI. Open Water Divers with a PADI Underwater Navigator certification also qualify
