The TDI Extended Range course teaches divers proper techniques for using compressed air as a breathing gas with a maximum depth of 55m. This is an extremely useful course to teach divers how to access depths deeper than 40m without access to helium.
During the course a variety of topics and skills would be covered, including equipment requirements and configuration, decompression options, use and deployment of surface markers, buddy rescue and narcosis checks and management.
Upon successful completion of the course, divers will be certified to plan and execute decompression dives using enriched air nitrox blends up to 100% to a maximum depth of 55m.
