Beginner Courses

 

PADI Open Water

IDR 5,500,000 / 3 Days / 4 dives

  • Become a certified diver and receive a permanent license to dive unsupervised to a maximum depth of 18 meters, valid worldwide for the rest of your life.

  • The course involves diving theory, video presentation, confined water pool training and four fun boat dives on Gili's amazing reefs; two dives to 12 meters and two dives to 18 meters.

  • Equipment rental, PADI Open Water E-Manual, Dive planner, Certification and Logbook are all included.


PADI Scuba Diver

IDR 3,800,000 / 2 Days / 2 dives

  • The PADI Scuba Diver course is ideal for those with limited time. It involves 3 modules of theory from the Open Water course, half a day of confined pool training and 2 open water dives up to 12 meters.

  • You will receive a certification that lets you dive to 12 meters under the supervision of a Divemaster or Instructor. This license is valid worldwide.

  • You can upgrade this certification to the Open Water diver level at any time.


PADI Discover Scuba Diving

IDR 900,000 / half day / 1 dive

  • The PADI Discover Scuba Dive is an introduction to diving for first timers or people who do not have a certificate. You will learn some basic theory and safety rules before trying on the scuba equipment in the pool. During the pool session some basic skills will be taught to boost your confidence under water.

  • After the pool session you will go for a dive in the ocean to a maximum depth of 12 meters where you can see turtles and many other reef fish around the Gili islands. This can be credited towards your Open Water Course if you wish to complete the full certification.

  • Divers must be at least 10 years old to take this course

  • No previous experience necessary


PADI Bubble Maker

IDR 900,000 / Half Day / 1 dive

  • The bubble makers is designed to teach youngsters how to breath under water. Basic theory and safety rules are taught in a fun learning environment

  • Children as young as 8 years old can enjoy the taking their first breaths underwater. Starting in the swimming pool, they are taught safety skills like clearing the mask and regulator, and also enjoying some games. Once they are comfortable and if the conditions are suitable, they can then enjoy an ocean dive to a maximum depth of 2 meters where they can expect to see turtles, clown fish, angelfish, trumpet fish and all of the other favourites

  • We have Aqualung diving equipment in junior sizes including smaller tanks

  • Divers must be 8 years old

  • No previous experience necessary

Advanced Courses

 

PADI Advanced Open Water

IDR 4,500,000 / 2-3 Days / 5 dives

  • Once you complete your PADI Open Water Course, you will want to continue your diving education with the PADI Adventure Diver or even the Advanced Open Water Course.

  • This course is designed to increase your confidence in the water whilst learning new skills. You have to complete 5 dives including the deep water dives and underwater navigation dives. You can choose from the following elective dives: naturalist, night dive, multi-level, drift, boat, photography, search and recovery, fish identification, wreck and the fun peak performance buoyancy dive. Upon completion of this course, you will be more comfortable underwater and have a better understanding of the aquatic world allowing you to dive up to 30 metres. To take this course you must be a PADI Open Water Diver.


PADI Rescue Diver

IDR 5,500,000 / 3-4 Days / 4 Dives

The PADI Rescue Diver course is a challenging and informative course that will build your confidence as a recreational diver. 

Three to four days of intensive classroom and in-water rescue training will be both fun and rewarding for all divers. Students will complete 12 Open Water Training Exercises which emphasize a diver's ability to be flexible and adapt to personal and environmental conditions. In the end, all 12 exercises will be practiced in real-life scenarios.
Course topics include:

  • First aid for diving injuries

  • First aid for marine injuries

  • Emergency procedures

  • Rescue equipment consideration and usage

  • Distress recognition

  • Self-rescue

  • Rescue entries, approaches and exits

  • Assist and transportation of patients

  • Missing, unconscious and submerged diver rescue

  • In-water artificial respiration

  • Accident recording and reporting

By the end of the course, you will have expanded your knowledge of diving, increased your level of diving skill and be more aware of what is happening in the diving environment. Most importantly, rescue training can help you to save lives and increase safety by preparing you to properly respond to diving emergencies.


Emergency First Response (EFR)

IDR 2,000,000 / 1 Day

First Aid and CPR are good skills for everyone not just in Scuba Diving. You need these skills for the PADI Rescue Diver course. The Emergency First Response (EFR) course teaches you medical emergency response skills and gives you confidence so you are prepared to help in an emergency.

What you learn in the EFR course:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level

  • Preventing and caring for shock

  • Spinal injury management

  • Use of barriers to reduce desease transmission risk

  • Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations

These skills can be used in any area or environment from being a parent, working with children or being involved in adventure sports. Most work organisations will accept this as a First Aid course to be used, recognised and credited.

PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox)

Stay down longer and get back in the water sooner. Learn how to dive using Enriched Air Nitrox. The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air Nitrox gives you more 'no decompression' dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.


PADI Deep Diver

IDR 4,100,000 / 2 Days / 4 dives

Explore the wonders of the deep. Learn techniques for diving in the deeper ranges of 18-40 meters. After your first few scuba dives, you soon want to explore a bit deeper. There’s something exciting and mysterious about the depth that attracts divers.


PADI Sidemount Diver

IDR 4,100,000 / 2 Days / 3 dives

Whether you're looking to bridge the gap between recreational and technical diving or searching for a new challenge and extended dive times the Sidemount course teaches flexibility and streamlining through custom gear configuration while focusing on improving students fundamental skills in water. Single and double tank configurations are available while combining with the Deep and Nitrox specialties will allow the diver to explore further for longer on our more challenging dive sites. 


PADI Wreck Diver

IDR 4,100,000 / 2 Days / 4 dives

Whether sunk on purpose as an artificial reef or the result of mishap, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, airplanes and even automobiles nearly irresistible because they’re intriguing to explore, exciting avenues of discovery, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The PADI Wreck Diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.


PADI Night Diver Speciality

PADI Drift Diver

The PADI Drift Diver Specialty course introduces you to the coolest magic carpet ride you’ll ever experience. This course shows you how to enjoy rivers and ocean currents by “going with the flow,” staying with your dive partner, communicating with the dive boat and knowing where you are the whole time.


PADI Project AWARE Shark Conservation Speciality

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy

PADI Dive Master

Trawangan Dive's philosophy on divemaster training is that the best way to learn is to experience how a dive centre operates on a day-to-day basis, not just reading books and doing simulated exercises, but by actually helping the instructor train real students in their diving courses.

Course Outline - Divemaster Internship Program
Join us in taking your first step as a diving professional. We are very proud of our Divemaster program and it has proven to be a popular choice on the island.  Trawangan Dive was the first PADI Career Development Centre in the Lombok region and is the only CDC Centre on Gili Trawangan.  We are also have a dedicated full time Course Director, so if you're just looking to take expand your dive knowledge and experience, or you wish to pursue a career in diving, then Trawangan Dive is the number one choice.

Knowledge development 
As a PADI professionsal, it is important that you have an understanding of the theory of diving.  You will cover the following topics throughout your Divemaster course: the roles and characteristics of a Divemaster, physics of diving, physiology of diving, dive equipment, decompression theory and the RDP, Divemaster conducted programs, the business of diving and your diving career.

Assignment
You must prepare an emergency assistance plan detailing the proper procedures to follow in the event of a diving related accident (relevant to the local environment). Prepare a map of a local dive site offering useful information for those unfamiliar with the area, i.e. topography, depths, entry/exit points, etc.

Water Skills & Stamina
In this module, you will perfect your confined water skills to demonstration level, improve your diving ability and practice a rescue scenario. 

Equipment Exchange
Underwater, you will exchange all diving equipment with a buddy. This will improve self-confidence and equipment familiarity.

Divemaster Conducted Program
You will conduct a real student training session under the direct supervision of a PADI instructor.

Divemaster Internship
The purpose of this section is to enable the candidate to work with students on a real course and help prevent, overcome, and assist with common problems they may encounter while learning to dive. You will act as an instructional assistant and your performance will be evaluated. In addition, Trawangan Dive will give you training in compressor operation, equipment repair and dive store sales, a very valuable asset to any perspective employer.

Course Time and Costs
We recommend a minimum of three to four weeks to complete the training however many students decide to stay for up to five weeks. During that time, you have unlimited free fun diving and you can do up to 3 dives per day, which will result in well over 60 dives by the end of the course. 

Required Divemaster materials include the PADI Divemaster Manual, The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving Knowledge Workbook. The Divemaster crew pack costs IDR 3.500.000.

This price for the course includes equipment; however, if you have all of your own gear, (including regulator, BCD, mask, fins) you will receive a 10% discount.  All DMTs are expected to provide their own surface marker and reel (this is basic safety equipment).  We sell these at the shop, or you can also buy one before you arrive if you prefer. 

We have an extensive range of Aqualung diving equipment available to buy in our retail shop.

A dive computer is also handy as you will be doing repetitive diving, so will want to watch your nitrogen levels.  We do sell these at the shop, or we rent them out for IDR 15.000 per week to Divemaster trainees.

Please note - there is an additional fee for your PADI membership, payable directly to PADI once a year.
