PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Course Description:

As a seasoned PADI Instructor, you have wisdom and experience to share with up and coming PADI leaders. And, you know that continuing your education never ends. As an Instructor Development Course (IDC) Staff Instructor, you help bring up the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining in depth instructor trainer knowledge.

Share your wisdom with the next generation of instructors

There are also many other benefits to becoming a IDC Staff Instructor, not least of which is reducing burnout by increasing the number of different courses that you are able to teach. On completion of the IDC Staff Instructor course, you will be able to teach Assistant Instructor courses and many parts of an IDC.

Because IDC Staff Instructors are an integral part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), you set the stage for moving on to PADI Course Director as you present topics in the IDC and help shape PADI Divemasters and Assistant Instructors into PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.

Many dive centre or resort management positions require this level of Instructor experience and training, making this an important step if you are considering a career in a dive centre or you want to open a dive shop or resort.

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor course normally starts a few days before the IDC. Our Course Director will explain the IDC curriculum and requirements, show you how to organise and conduct Assistant Instructor courses, explain your role and responsibilities as a Staff Instructor and review all important evaluation training and criteria that you will use when working with IDC and AI candidates.

Once you have successfully completed the IDC Staff Instructor course, you will then sit in on the entire PADI IDC where you will be expected to give certain presentations to the IDC candidates. You will also be evaluating candidates knowledge, confined water and open water presentations and working with our instructional team to develop the candidates.
